Scripture
30 For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Observation
Sometimes we may want to think that because God is love that He will overlook our sins…not! One day we all are going to fall into the hands of the living God and you better have had your sins forgiven before that day arrives. Jesus could return at anytime, maybe it will be today. Are you ready? If not then it will be a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. When I think of God’s hands I always think of protection and not of punishment, but his hands will do both. Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Encourage one another because “the Day” is approaching!
Application
Some folks have stopped coming to church…they are not encouraging anybody…we are to continue meeting together with one another and we are to continue encouraging one another. Who needs some encouragement today? Give them a call!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when I think of your hands I think of how you have protected me. I think of how secure I am because of your care. I have never thought that you would forsake me not even for a minute. Thank you for taking care of me every moment and not just me but Kathy too. It is our desire to walk with you hand in hand until the day you take us home. Help us to be faithful to you. Thank you for providing so much for us. Thank you for so many good friends. Thank you for our church for every member from the babies to our senior adults.
