Scripture
Acts 8
26 As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
29 The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”
30 Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.
32 The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter.
And as a lamb is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
33 He was humiliated and received no justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”
34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?” 35 So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.
Observation
Have you heard the Good News? Have you heard the Good News about Jesus? There is no greater news than the Good News about Jesus. He loves you. He died on a cross in your place. He died for your sins and for my sins. He paid the penalty for your sins and my sins with His death on the cross. He was buried but on the third day He came back to life. He is alive today. He is coming again. Everyone that puts his or her trust in Him will spend eternity with Him in Heaven and that my friend is the Good News about Jesus.
Have you had a chance to respond to the Good News about Jesus? Have you invited Him into your life as your Lord and as your Savior? There is more good news and that good news is that you can pray and ask Him to save you today.
Application
I will share this Good News with someone today.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that salvation will come to many lives today as your people gather to worship. Give people a clear understanding of the Gospel today. I pray for the people of Haiti today that through this tragedy many thousands of Haitians will be saved. I pray for revival for nation of Haiti.

I think God may be wanting me to dive into this scripture deeper. Or maybe I just didn't fully get the message yesterday, but we studied Acts 8 and Phillip and the eunuch yesterday in Sunday School. Thank you so much for these.
Carly, I still go over and look to see if you have written anything on your blog. With facebook fewer people are blogging these days. I journal because it helps me stay focused on my daily quiet time with the Lord. Phillip and the Eunuch is a fascinating story. It shows you God's heart for all people and it shows what God will do for someone if they have a desire to know Him. I read this morning about Peter and Cornelius in Acts chapter 10. This passage also shows God's heart for the people around us. God bless you and your family. Thanks for taking time to read my blog.
