Esther 1; Esther 2; Psalm 150; Luke 17
Everything That Breathes,
Praise The Lord!
Praise The Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his Temple!
Praise him in heaven, his strong fortress!
2 Praise him for the great things he does!
Praise him for all his greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpets and horns!
Praise him with harps and lyres!
4 Praise him with tambourines and dancing!
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise him with loud cymbals!
Praise him with crashing cymbals!
6 Everything that breathes, praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Many churches seem afraid that they might have a Psalm 150 worship experience so they deliberately seem to work at keeping everything calm and everything at a low and slow tempo. “Loud”, “Crashing”, or even “Tambourines” would not describe or be a part of their worship services! The words “exciting” or “powerful” would also not fit in a description of their worship services.
Yet … our church is very close! I missed being at church this past Sunday and I really missed being there after I heard what an awesome worship day it was at our church, Christ Fellowship! The Holy Spirit is at work in an incredible way – and to Him be all the glory!
Everybody I have talked to is talking about how the Holy Spirit was at work in our worship services this past Sunday! Does that describe what is happening at your church too? I hope so!
What would it be like to experience a Psalm 150 worship service? For sure it would be a worship service that starts out with Praise and ends with Praise and nobody would be worrying about how “loud” or upbeat the music was!
(I know for my ears there is a point where music can be too loud, but it has to be very loud for it to bother me – I think God can handle and enjoy loud music better than us old folks)
Praise him with loud cymbals! Praise him with crashing cymbals! Praise him with tambourines and dancing! Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise him with trumpets and horns! Praise him with harps and lyres!
Our church comes very close to a Psalm 150 worship experience! My thanks to the Praise Team singers, our musicians, and the choir for leading us in the music part of our worship service!
Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord!
