We Should Not Do What Pleases Us
But Do What Pleases Them
And Is For Their Good.
Scripture
Romans 15
“…We should not do what pleases us 2 but do what pleases them and is for
their good. We should do whatever helps everyone grow stronger in faith.
3 Even Christ did not live trying
to please himself.”
Observation
We
could solve most of our relationship problems if we just took “Me” and “Mine”
out of the equation. The Apostle Paul tells us that even Christ didn’t live to
please himself.
Lets
put these two verses into practice this week. Lets do things that please others
and that help them. Lets help them grow stronger in their faith!
Can
you think of someone? How about your spouse? How about your kids or grandkids?
How about a co-worker? How about a boss? Maybe it is a card or love note left
for your spouse. Maybe it is going or doing way more than your normal for
someone - just to help them, just to lighten their load.
Thought
of someone … good … lets do it!
Application
I will strive to help someone (I have the person in mind)
grow stronger in his faith this week.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to please others rather than living to please
myself. Give me the opportunity to help someone grow in his/her faith this
week.
