You
Will Be Hated
All Over The World Because You Are My Followers.
Are you are person that likes to hear the Good News first and then the
bad news or the bad news first and then the Good News?
Scripture
Matthew 24
9 “Then
you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the
world because you are my followers.
Observation
Here’s
the bad news first, “We, as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, will be hated
all over the world.” And no that is not my opinion it is what the Bible says is
coming as the end of this world draws near.
Our
country has been protected up to this point from all of the extreme persecution
that believers in so many other countries are experiencing. Up until this point
our churches have not been attacked and we have not yet witnessed mass
beheadings, but lets not be naïve, evil is heading our way.
Discrimination,
abuse of authority, lawlessness, and lack of respect for authority all the evil
that is rampant in our major cities today is just a glimpse of what is heading
our way.
Okay,
I think you should now be ready for the Good News!
The
Good News is found in verse 15 of chapter 24, “ And the Good News about
the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations
will hear it; and then the end will come.
The church will continue to be the salt and the light to
this world and we will take the Gospel to the whole world! God’s church is
invincible! It will thrive under persecution!
It is always good to know that as we approach such dark
troubling days that we are on the winning team!
Application
I
will filter these terrible current events through what God says in His word and
I will not be shaken! How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I pray for the persecuted church today. I realize that so many of my
brothers and sisters in Christ are going through extreme suffering. Give them
strength today. I pray for my brothers and sisters at “Exciting Central
Baptist” church. Help our two churches continue to work together to impact our
city for Christ. Help both of our churches stand against racial discrimination
and injustice and help us better support those in authority who risk their
lives to protect us.
