But Many Who Are The Greatest Now Will Be Least Important Then

But Many Who Are The Greatest Now
Will
Be Least Important Then
Scripture
Matthew 19
29 And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.
30 But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.
Observation

In the Kingdom of Heaven our importance or our standing isn't measured by what we have been able to accumulate here on Earth, no, in the Kingdom of Heaven we will be ranked not by what we have accumulated but by what we have given up and by what we have given away!
If you are a billionaire or a millionaire or maybe we have just accumulated a lot of stuff during our lifetime, well all of that might make us feel good and it may make us feel important for the few years we live here on earth, but my friend, here is the real issue … we are going to live “forever” either in Heaven or Hell ... what will the hoarding all of that stuff do for us then?
Please take a minute and read Luke 16:19-31 and you will see exactly what I am talking about!
Daring faith is faith that allows us to see what is really important in this life!

Being a generous giver now in this life will pay big dividends in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Luke 16
19 Jesus said, “There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. 20 At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores.
...The rich man also died and was buried,23 and he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side.

24 “The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.

Application
I will plan for my future … in Heaven. How about you? Where are you placing your treasures?
Matthew 6
20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to focus on what is really important. Show me what is going to last forever and keep me focused on that. Don't let me get sidetracked by stuff that doesn't matter to You. Thank You for being so good to us. You are an awesome God. You are worthy of all praise!
Daily Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 16; Psalm 106; Matthew 19
