He Will Wipe Every Tear From Their Eyes, And There Will Be No More Death Or Sorrow Or Crying Or Pain. All These Things Are Gone Forever.
He
Will Wipe Every Tear From Their Eyes,
And
There Will Be No More Death Or Sorrow Or Crying Or Pain.
All
These Things Are Gone Forever.
Scripture
Revelation
21
1
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the
old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.
2 And I saw
the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven
like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 I heard a
loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now
among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his
people. God himself will be with them.
4 He
will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death
or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
5 And the
one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!”
And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is
trustworthy and true.”
6 And he
also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the
Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from
the springs of the water of life.
7 All who
are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their
God, and they will be my children.
Observation
When
will all of the hurt and pain, all of the death and sorrow end? I
don't know exactly when it will end but one day Jesus is going to cry
out, “It is finished! And He will wipe away every tear from our
eyes and there will be no more suffering!
Someone
asked me yesterday how she could get help with the pain of recently
losing her father. To be honest I don't have a real good answer for
her.
I
know that it personally took me a long time to get over the death of
my Mom. The only thing that helped me was the passing of time …
with each day it gradually got a little bit easier. You, who have
lost someone close to you, probably would share something similar, or
might even have a better answer than mine!
The
Apostle Paul experienced a lot of suffering and his words in 2
Corinthians 1 have been an encouragement to me and maybe they will
help you today:
3 All
praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our
merciful Father and the source of all comfort.
4 He
comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When
they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God
has given us.
6 Even when
we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and
salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly
comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we
suffer.
7 We are
confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in
the comfort God gives us.
8 We
think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble
we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and
overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would
never live through it.
9 In
fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on
ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.
10 And
he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We
have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue
us.
11 And
you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give
thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our
safety. (2 Corinthians 1:3-11)
Application
I
will comfort others with the same comfort that God has given me.
How
about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, You know who is on my heart today. I pray for those who are
grieving. Help them, Lord. You are the God of all comfort and all
compassion. I know that You will help them through this time of
grief. I pray that they will read Your Word and I pray that they will
go to You in this time of need. You are the mighty God. Nothing is
too hard for You!
