He
Led Me To A Place Of Safety;
He
Rescued Me
Because
He Delights In Me.
Scripture
Psalm
18
1 I
love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
2 The Lord is
my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my
God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the
power that saves me,
and my place of
safety.
3 I called
on the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and
he saved me from my enemies.
4 The
ropes of death entangled me;
floods of
destruction swept over me.
5 The
grave wrapped its ropes around me;
death
laid a trap in my path.
6 But
in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes,
I prayed to my God for help.
19 He led me
to a place of safety;
he rescued me
because he delights in me.
Observation
I
love it when I hear people say to me when I am greeting them, when I
am asking them how they are doing, I love it when they respond back
to me with, “I am blessed and highly favored!”
I
love it because it is so true! God loves me. He delights in me. I am
highly favored.
And
it is not because of me and who I am, no, it is because of my God and
who He is!
King
David got it! Psalm 18 is filled with David bragging on His God!
You
and I are blessed. If we are followers of Jesus Christ, we are
blessed and highly favored. Our Heavenly Father delights in every
detail of our lives.
Let's
let that soak in … then let's say as King David did, “I love You,
Lord, You are my strength!”
Application
I
will pray Psalm 18:1-6,19 back to the Lord this morning!
How
about you? Will you stop and take time to pray and thank the Lord for
His goodness?
2
Samuel 22:20
He
led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in
me.
Psalm
37:23
The Lord directs
the steps of the godly. He delights in
every detail of their lives.
Psalm
149:4
For
the Lord delights in
his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
Proverbs
3:12
For
the Lord corrects
those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom
he delights.
Proverbs
11:20
The Lord detests
people with crooked hearts, but he delights in
those with integrity.
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, help me to recognize as King David did that You are my
protector. Help me to always give You the credit for the good things
that You do for me. I love
you, Lord; you are my strength. You are my rock, my fortress,
and my savior; You are my rock, in whom I find protection. You are my
shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on
You, You who are worthy of praise, and You saved me from my enemies.
The ropes of death entangled me; floods of destruction swept over me.
The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path.
But in my distress I cried out to You; yes, I prayed to You for help.
You led me to a place of safety; You rescued me because You delight
in me. (Psalm 18:1-6,19 personalized)
