As Much As Seventy-five Pounds

Fell From The Sky Onto The People Below.

Scripture

Revelation 16

20 And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. 

21 There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

Observation

The fires out in California and Oregon right now are horrific. Entire towns are being burned and wiped out. Thousands and thousands of acres are being burned and there are hardly any of these fires that are under control.

As bad as that is can you imagine an earthquake so bad that it levels mountains and causes islands to disappear! How about being caught in a hailstorm and trying to dodge 75 pound hailstones raining down on people! I can't even imagine what a 75 pound hailstone would look like, can you?

So as bad as the world's present Covid 19 pandemic is, and other natural disasters like the fires out west they are nothing compared to what is going to happen to this earth in the future according to what we read in the book of Revelation!

Application

I agree with the writer of the book of Revelation, the Apostle John, who said at the end of the book,

“He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)

How about you? Are you ready?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us how everything is going to end. Thank You for letting me be on the winning team. I don't want to ever experience the terrible things that are mentioned in Revelation. I don't want to be here when 75 pound hailstones fall from the sky or when islands disappear or when mountains are leveled. I know that it will happen because You always keep Your Word. I just don't want it to happen during my lifetime!

I pray for Dolores Redman's family as they go through this time of grief and loss. Comfort them, Lord. Give them strength.
