Scripture
Psalm 150
1 Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
Observation
As much as I like the great hymns of our faith, many of which were written hundreds of years ago, I love contemporary praise and worship music as much or even more! The music of groups like “Casting Crowns”, “Third Day”, “Mercy Me”, “Jars of Clay” remind me of what the Psalmist is talking about in Psalms 150!
Application
I will take time today to listen to “Praise and Worship Music” and I will praise my Lord!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, you are the creator of music and you place songs in our hearts. Thank you for giving me a desire to praise you. Thank you for groups that lead us in praise and worship and for the songs you have given them for us to enjoy. I love you Lord. Amen.
