Scripture
2 Corinthians 10
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Observation
Life is a battlefield and war is waged everyday. If you are a Christ follower then you have weapons for this warfare that are out of this world. We have an unfair advantage in this battle because Creator God is on our side. In fact, He has already told us that we will be the victors when it is all over and done with. It is a battle that has already been won. We fight against principalities and powers in heavenly realms that one-day soon will be thrown into the fiery pit for eternal punishment.
It may not seem like you are on the winning side but trust God’s word when he says, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Cor. 15:57-58
Application
I will stand firm today on God’s promises. I will not be moved. I will continue to focus on God’s work because I know that what I do in the Lord is not in vain.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us the victory. This world will not win even though it seems like the ungodly gain more and more ground every day. I know that you have a plan for this world and my family and I are included in that plan. Thank you for our church and for every person that you are bringing into our church to help it grow. May it continue to touch the lives of those that live in the community. In Jesus Name. Amen.
