My God is Able

Scripture

Jude 1

24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Observation

How Big is your God? How Powerful is your God? My God is Big! He is Able! He is able to keep me from falling and He is big enough to present me without fault into His glorious presence. He does it all through Jesus Christ, our Lord. I meet people who don’t have the same assurance that I have. They are not sure if they have eternal life. They think that they can have it and then somehow lose it. Maybe their Bible doesn’t have Jude 1:24-25!

Application

My sister Linda helped me yesterday when she told me that she just refuses to let negative thoughts come into her mind. She is taking care of her son Jonathan who is still in a coma and it is a 24/7 job. Jonathan and Linda would have been here at the beach with us this week, but it is not possible this year. I prayed for Jonathan and my sister early this morning as I was out in my kayak out in the Gulf of Mexico. I was looking at God’s wonderful creation and all God had to do to create everything was to speak it into existence. I asked Him to heal Jonathan with that same kind of creation power. I have a Big and Powerful God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, it is so easy to slide into negative thinking. It is so easy to worry about things instead of trusting in you. You are so Big. You are so Powerful. There is not anything too hard for you! I pray for healing today for my two nephews that are in comas and I pray for their families that you show yourself powerful in their lives. May they trust you completely. In Jesus Name Amen.
