Heaven – Where Is It?

Scripture

Acts 1

9 After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. 10 As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

Observation

When Jesus ascended into Heaven He went up and up and up until the disciples no longer could see Him. He could have just disappeared, but no He ascended into a cloud and they watched him until they could no longer see Him any more. Where did Jesus go? He went to Heaven. Where is Heaven? We don’t know do we.

We do know that when Jesus returns He will return the same way. So where is Heaven? We don’t know. Or do we? Yes we do know. Heaven is whereever Jesus is right now - that is where Heaven is. One day He is going to return to take us all where He is right now. And I know that when we go to Heaven we will ascend into heaven just like Jesus did! All the rest doesn’t matter a whole lot to me.

Application

Come Lord Jesus! Come!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for preparing a place for us a place where we will live forever. It is going to be wonderful. A place where there is no more pain, no more sickness, no more death, and no more Presidential elections. Thank you for preparing a better place for us to live for eternity than here on earth. Thank you for giving us a place to look forward to.
