Scripture
2 Corinthians 1
20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
Observation
“Amen” … all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” Have you ever responded with an “Amen” when the preacher shouts out a Biblical truth that touches your heart? Well you should because Paul says that through Christ your “Amen” goes up to God for his glory! Wow! Have you ever thought of that?
You may have even been critical of someone that shouts out “Amen” when a preacher is preaching. Now you know that it is your loss and not that person that is shouting out the “Amens”! “Amen” is simply “Yes” or “Right On” or “I agree with you brother” and it is more than all right to shout it out when somebody is preaching or teaching God’s Word!
Why don’t you let out an “Amen” this Sunday! It could reach all the way up to heaven to God for his glory! Think about that…!
Application
I will listen to the message on Sunday and I will be ready to shout out “Amen” when Tommy Green says something that speaks to my heart!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Amen …Come Lord Jesus! I pray that You pour out Your blessings on Your people this Sunday. I pray that tonight You would come in power as we meet together as Your children. Shower us with Your Mercy and Love. For all of Your promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” Amen!
