“By His Divine Power,

God Has Given Us

Everything We Need For Living A Godly Life…”

Scripture

2 Peter 1

³ By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life… ⁴ And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises… ⁵ In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises…

Observation

Don’t make excuses for not living a productive godly life because God has given us everything we need to be able to do it. We are without excuse! He has given us about 3,000 promises in the Bible and we need to make every effort to respond to those promises. 

He is not like us. He keeps everyone of His promises that He makes with us. We can count on them. What promise will you cling to today? I read this promise this past week and wanted to write about it but there was something else that day that I just had to write about, but I haven’t forgotten it – 

“… The Lord who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God…” Isaiah 43:1-3

   

Application

I will think about and respond to God’s promises today. How about you? 

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You have said to me in Your Word, 

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God…” 

I will hold on to every one of Your Promises today. You are my Mighty God.
