Therefore, Angels Are Only
Servants –
Spirits Sent To Care For People Who Will Inherit Salvation.
Scripture
14 Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
Observation
Angels … only servants … spirits sent to care for
us God’s children! Jesus Christ is far more than an Angel. Angels are created
servants sent by God to care for us.
It is easy to worship God’s creation rather than the
Creator. Our week at the beach has been spent watching God’s creation and
listening to the wave crash against the beach. I am writing this out on the
porch with the ocean waves about 100 feet away. The wind and waves have been
awesome but it is the God behind the waves, behind the wind Who is truly
Awesome!
Sun worshippers are here in gearing up (umbrellas,
chairs, sun tan lotion). Today is the 4th of July so the worship of
“leisure” will kick in full force in just a few minutes.
The writer of Hebrews was writing to tell the readers
that there is only One Who deserves our worship. He is the King of Kings and
the LORD of Lords. His name is Jesus. He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. He
is worthy of our worship and praise!
Application
I will celebrate my relationship with Jesus today. He has
set me free!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for those who do not know You
today. They will party today. Many will drink too much. Many will try to
celebrate this day by abusing their bodies with too much food and too much
drink. Keep my family safe today. Some of them don’t know how to celebrate in a
way that brings You glory. I pray for the men and women who fight to keep our
country free. I pray for those who lead them. Give them wisdom. Help them to
trust in You for guidance. This is the day which You have made I will rejoice
and be glad!
