God Paid
A High Price For You,
So Don’t Be Enslaved By The World.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 7
23 God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.
Observation
When
Kathy and I went to see some of our friends in the mountains a few weeks ago we
had the joy of seeing our friend “JR” or James Russell.
JR,
with God’s help through the support of Jason and Robin Vosler and the ministry
of the Adonai House and Celebrate Recovery, was set free from alcohol
addiction.
We
went to church with JR in Knoxville, TN and it was wonderful to see God use JR
during the worship service as he prayed and ministered to a young man
struggling with addiction.
JR’s
story is one of a miraculous delivery from the slavery and destruction of
alcohol.
It
could be your story. It is time to break free!
There
is good reason not to be enslaved by this world, not to be enslaved by drugs,
not to be enslaved by alcohol, not to be enslaved by sex or gambling, not to be
enslaved by anything if you and I are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Why?
Because God paid a high price for our freedom!
So
break free! Break free today! Break free right now!
God
paid an extremely high price for you and me. Ask God for the strength to walk
away from what has enslaved you. Don’t make any excuses. Get help and break
free!
So
if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
Application
I
will continue trying to help people break free from whatever has enslaved them.

Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I give thanks for those like Jason and Robin Vosler, Orville and Linda
Renner, who have themselves struggled with addictions and now are helping
others walk in sobriety and victory. Bless their ministry Lord. Give them
strength, energy and wisdom to continue helping others to walk in victory and
out of bondage. I pray for JR today. Use him in a mighty way for Your Kingdom.
Don’t ever let him go backwards. May he always bring You glory and honor with
his life.
