But
If You Fail To Keep Your Word,

You Will Have Sinned Against The Lord,

You May Be Sure That Your Sin Will Find You Out.

if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against
the Lord,
and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.
Observation
It
seems like every week I get news of someone I know getting caught in
what they thought was a secret sin … and I am not talking about
actors or politicians, I am talking about Christians.
These
are folks I know and I know that they know better. Our secret sins
don't stay secret very long … sins like sexual immorality,
adultery, pornography, closet alcoholics, dependence on prescription
drugs, fraud/theft or gambling etc … etc … etc.
If
you are caught up in something that is wrong and you can't break free
then I suggest you share your secret with someone who you can trust
and ask them for help.
Confess
your sin to God and then confess it to someone you can trust before
it destroys you and your family and your ministry.
Proverbs
28:13
People
who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and
turn from them, they will receive mercy.
James
5:16
Confess your sins to
each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The
earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces
wonderful results.

When
I refused to confess my
sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.

I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have
listened.

Application
I
am a sinner and I realize that I am capable of the same sin that I
see my brothers and sisters commit. I will try to help them and not
judge them. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I pray for those who are caught in bad decisions that have
led them to bad behavior that they know is not right. Help them to
flee. Give them the strength and wisdom to get help. Don't let them
destroy themselves, their family, and their ministry. Bring people
into their lives that can help them. Help them to walk in victory.
