Guard
Your Heart
Above All Else,
For It Determines The
Course Of Your Life.
Scripture
Proverbs
4
23
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of
your life.
24
Avoid all perverse talk;
stay away from corrupt speech.
25
Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
26
Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path.
27
Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil.
Observation
Can
you imagine driving on a mountain road or going across a bridge that
has no guardrails? Living your life without guardrails is just as
scary and just as dangerous!
I
don’t know or care what you call them but it just makes good sense
to set up “guardrails” for our lives. Guardrails that will keep
us from getting off track. They will keep us from going over the edge
to crash and burn!
One
click of the mouse on your computer, taking a drink again, one
conversation alone with someone of the opposite sex that is not your
spouse, all of us are just a few steps away from crossing the line
and getting off of the safe path.
Lets
set some boundaries for our lives. Lets put up some guardrails before
we crash and burn, before we mess up our marriage, before we mess up
our life!
Lets
do it now! It is never too late!

Application
I
will guard my heart and I will use guardrails and boundaries to keep
me on the right path. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, thank You for saving me. I am a sinner. I know what You say
in Jeremiah 17:9 about my heart is so true, “The human heart is
most deceitful and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it
is?” Help me to guard my heart. Keep me on the right path. Keep me
from following evil.
I
pray for anyone reading this blog that is struggling with temptation
and maybe has already crossed over into sinful behavior. Help them to
repent. Help them to renew their relationship with You. Help them to
set up the necessary guardrails in his or her life that will help
keep them on the right path and heading in the right direction.
