Thank you, Thank you very much!

Esther 1; Esther 2; Psalm 150; Luke 17

Scripture

Ten Healed of Leprosy

Luke 17:11-19 “Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

Observation

Two small words, but two very important small words that reflect what is in your heart – THANK YOU! Ten men were healed of a terrible disease. A disease that caused your flesh to rot and fall off of your body and no one could be around you if you had the disease. A person with leprosy was a social outcast in the days of Jesus. Ten were healed and yet only one came back to say, “Thanks and to give God the glory”! How sad is that! Reminds me that I have some thank you notes to write this week! How about you?

Application

Today, I will make my list of everyone that I need to “Thank”. And I will begin the task of writing them notes to let them know how much I appreciate them!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me not be like the nine that were healed and never returned to give you thanks. Thank you for bringing so many people into my life to give me encouragement and that have helped us during the past few months. Thank you for this story in your Word that has reminded me that I have some people to “Thank”.

Dear Pastor Eddy,
How funny God works. When I pull up your blog at 8am every morning I am so thankful that it is there for me to start my day at work with a proper attitude and frame of mind. But, of course, I never express that to you. THANK YOU for being you and thank you for the card you and Kathy sent to Michelle for her birthday. She thinks you two are so sweet - as do I!! Thank you for changing my life, thank you for allowing God to use to save me!! In Christ, Jessica

Jessica,

Funny that you should write something today. I was meeting with my pastor friends today and I was sharing with them about how much you have grown over the past couple of years. Of course, they don't know who I am talking about (I didn't mention your name)but they had a chance to rejoice with me over you and Michelle.

I will not be able to get my blog on line before you crank up your computer at 8am everyday but it is good to know that you took the time to look at it. If you start blogging let me know. I try to look at Beth's blog on a regular basis. She is a great writer!

Thanks,

Eddy

Dear Pastor Eddy,
Wow! how often I forget to say "thanks" especially to those that I begin to take for granted. Although, we have always appreciated the Tampa Baptist family we see it much more clearly since we've moved. THANKS for all that you and the entire curch have done to minister to us as we minister to others!
Because of Christ,
Amber

Eddy -

I know I'm late on this blog - I always read down to what I have missed. My office is finally moved and up and running - not that it's smooth but we are here! I want to THANK YOU to for all you do - you are a great pastor and it's a blessing to us. I would have a hard time being part of any church that I did not respect the pastor (been there done that) and it's refreshing and wonderful actually to have a true man of God leading our church and I do thank you!
