Scripture
Matthew 21
14 The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. 15 The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.”
But the leaders were indignant. 16 They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?”
“Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’” 17 Then he returned to Bethany, where he stayed overnight.
Psalm 8:2
“You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise…”
Observation
Children and babies have been taught by God to give Him praise. It is natural for them. Jesus let the religious leaders know that it shouldn’t surprise them because it was mentioned in Psalm 8.
I am amazed at how many times Jesus would quote scriptures like Psalm 8.
I love to hear children sing about Jesus. How about you?
Application
I will work on scripture memory today.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, give me the heart of a child when it comes to worshiping You. Help me to worship You with all of my heart, my soul, my mind and my strength. You are worthy of praise. Amen.
