King of All Kings and Lord of All Lords
Scripture
Revelation 19
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Observation
What image do you have of Jesus? You probably think of Jesus like He was when He walked this earth with His disciples’ maybe your picture of Him in your mind has been influenced by artist and what they thought He must have looked like.
Today we see a picture of Jesus of how He might be seen in Heaven or at least how He might be seen just before He returns to this earth the second time! He will come looking totally different. He will come the second time with a completely different agenda. He will return to this earth as the Mighty Victor, the Mighty Warrior! He will come with a sharp sword in His mouth. He will come in judgment and He will come with the wrath of God. Every knee will bow when He comes.
Are you ready?
Application
Come Lord Jesus! Come!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know that Jesus would love to come, but He is waiting until more and more hear the Good News and become His followers. I know that He is patiently waiting until more and more accept His offer of salvation and more and more have the opportunity to turn from sin and self. So many have still not had the opportunity to hear, but everyday Your return is getting closer. The world is becoming smaller and smaller. Communication and the ability for the Gospel to be spread are becoming faster and faster everyday. It won’t be long! Come Lord Jesus! Come! Help me move someone closer to you today. Help me live today in a way that pleases You. You are the King of All Kings and the Lord of All Lords!
