…Hell …“Where The Maggots
Never Die
And The Fire Never Goes Out.”
Scripture
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out. It’s better to enter the Kingdom of God with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 ‘where the maggots never die and the fire never goes out.’
Observation
I
don’t remember reading about “worms” or even worse yet “maggots” that never die
that are eating on those in Hell!
48 The worms that eat the people in hell never die. The fire there is never stopped. (Easy To Read Version)
I imagined people being tormented in Hell by the fire
that continued to burn them and yet they couldn’t die. But I never thought
about worms or maggots eating on them and the worms and their victims never
dying either.
The thought of being alive and having maggots all over me
for eternity while I am being continually burned by an everlasting flame
doesn’t seem like the best use of my time … how about you?
Jesus makes a very good argument for choosing Heaven over
Hell. Hell is just as real as Heaven.
If you were to die today where would you spend eternity –
Heaven or Hell?

Application
I will share the Good News every chance I get that God
doesn’t want anyone to perish but He wants everyone to turn away from sin and
turn to Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for the person that may be
reading this blog who has not placed his or her faith in trust in Jesus Christ
for their salvation. I pray that You would open up their hearts today so they
can be saved. I pray for people to be saved this Sunday as Pastor Bruce
preaches Your word.
