He Eat

With Tax Collectors And Sinners?

Scripture

Mark 2

¹⁵ While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. ¹⁶ When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: 

“Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Observation

Why did Jesus eat with tax collectors and sinners? He answers that question in Luke 19:10 when He said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Jesus said this after Zacchaeus had surrendered His life to Him.

We all have the tendency to forget that it is people who don’t know Jesus that should be our main concern. 

Let’s focus on them this week!  

Application

 I will look for people this week that need Jesus and focus on them.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me take time this week for the people that need You as Savior. Give me Your spiritual eyes and give me Your heart for the people around me. I pray for those that are struggling right now in their relationships. Help them to see that the problem is sin. Help them to see that their spouse is not the enemy, but that Satan is their enemy and he wants to destroy their relationship.
