Numbers 28; Numbers 29; Mark 8
“You Are Seeing Things
Merely
From A Human Point Of View, Not From God’s.”
Scripture
Mark 8
33 Jesus turned around and
looked at his disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get
away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from
God’s.”
Observation
As you think about life today and what is happening
around you are you looking at things from a human point of view, or from God’s?
When Pastor Bruce says that we need to look at things
from 30,000 feet, I think he is echoing what Jesus said to his disciples after
He reprimanded Peter. Peter only saw what Jesus was saying about His death from
a human perspective and not from God’s point of view.
So many things are happening around us. It seems like the
world is totally out of control. Read the newspaper about today’s events and
you get man’s point of view, read God’s Word in the morning and you will you be
able to see things from God’s point of view.
I have to remind myself almost everyday that God is
Sovereign. None of what is happening is catching Him by surprise. Our future is
safe in His Hands. We are on the winning team.
Application
I will focus on what is really important today … getting
ready for Sunday! How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, give me the ability to look over all the circumstances that seem to be
out of control and focus on You instead. Help me to apply Proverbs 3:5-6 today,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own
understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.”
