Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and
high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the
spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
Observation
Empty
Philosophies and high-sounding nonsense have never been more
prevalent and accepted as they are today.
Someone
told me the other day that he gets all of his “truth” from what
he reads on the Internet and from what he sees on YouTube videos!
The
following quote is one that my wife Kathy shared with me earlier this
week, “The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. He always
works through the Truth – the Living Word of God, who is Jesus, and
the written Word of God, which is your Bible. He is the Spirit of
Truth.”
It
saddens me to see people captured by empty philosophies and
high-sounding nonsense rejecting the Word of God for his or her
source of truth.
There
is no more reliable source of truth than God's Word and there is no
one more reliable and trustworthy to follow than Jesus Christ.
God's
Word is always relevant to what is happening today! And Jesus Christ
is the same yesterday, today, and forever!

Application
I
will trust the Lord and His Holy Word the Bible to guide me through
this life. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I pray for those captured, those radicalized by empty
philosophies and high-sounding nonsense. Help them to see and
understand that Your “written Word” is Truth and that Jesus
Christ is the “living Truth”. Open up their eyes to the real and
life changing Truth. Set them free!
