Then
There Was War In Heaven.
And
The Dragon Lost The Battle,
And
He And His Angels Were Forced Out Of Heaven
Scripture
Revelation
12
7 Then there was
war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and
his angels. 8 And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels
were forced out of heaven. 9 This great dragon—the ancient serpent
called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was
thrown down to the earth with all his angels.
10 Then I heard a
loud voice shouting across the heavens,
“It
has come at last—
salvation and power
and the Kingdom of
our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser
of our brothers and sisters
has been thrown down to earth—
the
one who accuses them
before our God day and night.
11 And
they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb
and by their
testimony.
And they did not love their lives so much
that
they were afraid to die.
12 Therefore, rejoice, O heavens!
And you who live in the heavens, rejoice!
But terror will come on
the earth and the sea,
for the devil has come down to you in
great anger,
knowing that he has little time.”
Observation
“But
terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come
down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.”
My
friend, your spouse is not your enemy, neither is the government your
enemy, but we do have an enemy and his name is Satan.
He
is a defeated enemy, but still roams this earth.
He
comes to steal, kill and destroy. He is the prince of this world. He
is our accuser. He is the great deceiver of this world. But he has
been defeated by the blood of the Lamb!
Satan
is the topic of the Bible study for tomorrow's Sunday school lesson!
This blog will be part of my lesson preparation!
As
I look at world events, like countries threatening war against our
country and vice versa, the things going on in our culture like
legalized sexual immorality, human trafficking, abortion etc., and
even natural catastrophes like the devastation caused by a
destructive storm like Hurricane Harvey, these are all constant
reminders to me that we live in a broken world run by our defeated
enemy, Satan.
Things
will get worse in our world not better because the prince of this
world knows that his time is running out!

John 4:4
4
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the
one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
John
16:33
33
“I
have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this
world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the
world.”
John
10:10
10
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Application
I
will draw close to God and I will resist the devil. And I will look
at what happened yesterday, what is happening today, and what will
happen tomorrow from a Biblical world view. How about you?
James
4
7 So humble
yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. ...
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, help me to always remember that You are in control. You are
Sovereign! You are all knowing. Nothing catches You by surprise.
Thank You for letting us know how all of this is going to end. We
know the end of the story. We win. And I know that I will spend
Eternity with You.
