But Those Who Hope In The Lord Will Renew Their Strength

They Will Soar On Wings Like Eagles They Will Run

And Not Grow Weary, They Will Walk And Not Be Faint.

Scripture

Isaiah 40

28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

Observation

Where are we placing our hope? In our savings account? In our government? In ourself? In our spouse? Isaiah 40 tells us the only safe and secure place to find hope! I love Isaiah 40:31 – it is a great verse to meditate on as we start out the week!

So are we tired and weary? Has life dragged us down? Not soaring like an eagle these days?

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Application

I will put my hope in the Lord this week so I can soar like an Eagle!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, don't let me act like a turkey when I can soar like an Eagle! My hope is in You and only You. You will never let me down. You always keep Your promises. What You have said in Your Word, You will do. I can count on You.

I pray for any person struggling today. Help them, Lord. Show them that they can place their trust and their hope in You. Don't let them give up. Bring people into their life to encourage them. Speak to them through Your Word. Help them to soar like an Eagle!
