It's a Done Deal!

2 Kings 20; Isaiah 38; Isaiah 39; Psalm 75; 1 Peter 2

Scripture

1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” Or in the NLT 1 Peter 2: 24 “He personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. You have been healed by his wounds!”


Observation

Peter says that Christ took or carried our sins in his body on the cross (tree). And Peter says by His (Jesus) wounds we have been healed. Both of those phrases are in the past tense. It is a done deal if we have a relationship with Him. He has paid the price in full.


Application

We need to live like we have been set free from the bondage of sin. Christ paid a huge price to provide a solution to our sin problem. We need to act like we belong to Him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for setting me free from the bondage of sin. I want to live for you. Thank you for suffering so that I may be healed from the consequences of sin.
