Complete in Christ!

Scripture

Colossians 2

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

11 When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Observation

What are you lacking today? In Colossians 2 Paul says that we have everything we need and it is all in our relationship with Christ. The spiritual realms with all its powers and authorities have nothing over us. We need to grow in Christ. He needs to become the only source of our faith. Our faith needs to be rooted and grounded in Christ and then nothing can overcome us.

Build your life on Christ and then your faith will grow strong.

Application

In this crazy world that seems out of control it is good to be reminded that Christ is all that we need. I will trust Christ today for everything that comes my way. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to grow in Christ and depend on Christ for every need of my life. I pray for those that are having surgery today, I pray that You guide the surgeons’ hands and use this time of illness to strengthen the faith of those that are sick. Thank You for allowing us to know You and thank You that You care about us some much that You sent Your Son to die for us and to live in us. Thank You for letting Your Power reside in us so that no matter what comes our way You are more than able to take care of it. You are a Mighty God. I put my faith and my trust in You for today.
