Love Never Gives Up
Love
Never
Gives
Up
Scripture
1
Corinthians 13
5 or
rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it
keeps no record of being wronged.
7 Love
never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures
through every circumstance.
13 Three
things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest
of these is love.
Observation
The
love we are talking about in 1 Corinthians 13 is God's love – Agape
love.
Agape love comes straight from the heart of God. Remember God
is love.
This kind of love is sacrificial,
unconditional, and doesn't keep score.
It doesn't matter how Kathy
responds or doesn't respond; if I want to love her like Jesus loves,
I have to put myself aside and love Kathy sacrificially.
You and I can't love with this kind of love, with God's love if we
don't have a relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
You
and I can love ice cream, we can love a football team, we can love a
dog, but our love for our spouse, for our children, grandchildren,
neighbors, and friends needs to be a different kind of love, it needs
to be God's love – selfless and sacrificial!
Agape Love!
Application
I
will love Kathy with Agape love this week. Will you do the same with
those that you love?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, your love for me never gives up. It is patient and kind. It
is not jealous or boastful or proud or
rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it
keeps no record of my wrongs. It does not rejoice about
injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. It
never loses faith, it is always hopeful, and it endures through every
circumstance. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 personalized)
