By His Divine Power, God Has Given Us Everything We Need For Living A Godly Life.
By
His Divine Power,
God
Has Given Us Everything We Need
For
Living A Godly Life.
Scripture
2
Peter 1
3 By
his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a
godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the
one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and
excellence.
4 And
because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and
precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share
his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human
desires.
5 In view of
all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises.
Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence,
and moral excellence with knowledge,
6 and
knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance,
and patient endurance with godliness,
Observation
Promises,
Promises, Promises – you and I have made them, but we have not kept
them all. God on the other hand, has given us thousands of promises
in His Word, and He will keep every single one of them! We can count
on His faithfulness, we can count on Him to keep each and every
promise that He has made to us!
Are
you making excuses for not living a godly life?
You
don't have to stay where you are!
Living
an ungodly life, if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, is a choice,
a choice that you are deliberately making, because according to 2
Peter 1:3 “God has given us
everything we need for living a godly life.”
Application
God
has given me everything I need to live a godly life and that is what
He expects me to do.
How
about you?
Matthew
6:33
33 Seek
the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will
give you everything you need.
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, thank You for giving me everything that I need to live a
godly life. Now help me to do just that. Help me to put You first and
nothing else in Your place. Guard my eyes from things that will draw
me into sin.
Philippians
4:8
8 And
now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on
what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and
admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of
praise.
