Christ
Is The Visible Image Of The Invisible God.
He
Existed Before Anything Was Created
And
Is Supreme Over All Creation,
Scripture
Colossians
1
15 Christ
is the visible image of the invisible God.
He
existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
16 for
through him God created everything
in
the heavenly realms and on earth.
He
made the things we can see
and
the things we can’t see—
such
as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen
world.
Everything
was created through him and for him.
17 He
existed before anything else,
and
he holds all creation together.
18 Christ
is also the head of the church,
which
is his body.
He
is the beginning,
supreme
over all who rise from the dead.
So
he is first in everything.
19 For
God in all his fullness
was
pleased to live in Christ,
20 and
through him God reconciled
everything
to himself.
He
made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by
means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
Observation
Someone
that I was talking to the other day said that he thought that Muslims
worshiped the same God as we as Christians do and all that mattered
was that they worshiped God.
The
guy wasn't a Muslim himself. The point that he was attempting to make
was that as long as you worship a god it doesn't matter which god you
worship. Maybe you have even thought the same thing!
This
was part of my reply back to the man:
There
is only One God and He has revealed Himself in the Lord Jesus Christ.
God left Heaven and came to Earth as Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ
created this world and everything in it.
There
is no way to have a personal relationship with God without having a
saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The
Bible is all about God's plan to come to this Earth in the Person of
Jesus Christ to save us from our sins by means of Christ's blood on
the cross.
John
3:16
16
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only
Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have
eternal life.
Philippians
2
5 You must
have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though
he was God,
he did not think of equality
with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead,
he gave up his divine privileges;
he took
the humble position of a slave
and was
born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
8 he
humbled himself in obedience to God
and
died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Application
I
will continue to point people to Jesus every chance I get.
How
about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, Colossians 1:11-12 is my prayer for anyone who may read this
blog today.
…
I
“... pray
that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will
have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with
joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the
inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.”
