Shining Like Bright Lights In A World Full Of Crooked And Perverse People.
Shining
Like Bright Lights
In
A World
Full
Of Crooked And Perverse People.
Scripture
Philippians
2
15 so
that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children
of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and
perverse people.
16 Hold
firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I
will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work
was not useless.
Observation
You
and I are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God …
shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse
people. And we are to do it without complaining and arguing!
Do
you really mean that we are not supposed to complain and argue with
each other?
Exactly
right!
Are
we making decisions and are we treating people the way God says to
treat them according to His Word? Or are we violating Scripture and
completing ignoring what God has plainly told us?
You
and I need to live our lives in a way that no one can criticize us!
Application
I
will hold firmly to God's Word and I will do my best to live it out
as a light in this world full of crooked and perverse people.
How
about you? Complaining … Arguing … Fighting?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, don't let me gripe and complain. Don't let me argue and fight
with the people around me. Help me be a light in this world of
crooked and perverse people. Don't let me give people a reason to
criticize me. Help me be a man of integrity. Help me to keep my word.
Help me to treat others as better than myself.
Philippians
2:1-5
1
Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from
his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts
tender and compassionate?
2 Then
make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other,
loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.
3 Don’t be
selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others
as better than yourselves.
