Incomparably Great Power
Scripture
Ephesians 1
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Observation
The church is the most powerful force on this earth. I didn’t say it, “God said it!” Our church has all the power to reach our city for Christ and so does your church. We are the church, the body of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you don’t believe what I am saying just read Ephesians 1 about 10 times and you will see that I am right.
The power that has been given to us, his church is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Maybe you aren’t experiencing that power in your personal life or in the life of your church, but that doesn’t mean it is not there. Have you read any books about God’s powerful church in China or the church movement that happened in Cuba?
If you have a chance or if you have a desire I would recommend that you read the book, “Back To Jerusalem”. It is a book written about the underground church in China and how they believe that the underground church in China will take the Gospel through all of the countries from China all the way back to Jerusalem. When the core group in our church begins to have the vision of reaching our city for Christ it will happen. It is going to happen. God is preparing our church to do just that. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is at our disposal to reach our city for Christ.
God’s power working through His church was made evident to me when God led our church and many other churches to pray for me. God brought me back from the dead because His powerful church prayed. It was an awesome display of His Mighty power working through His church. That same power is available for us to reach those that are spiritually dead, those that are bound for an eternity in Hell. We have the power to bring them from death to life. And it a far more important work than what you even did for me.
Application
I will continue to believe that our church has the Power to reach our city for Christ!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, this is my prayer for everyone that has taken time to read this blog today:
