I Have Fought The Good Fight,

I Have Finished The Race,

I Have Kept The Faith.

Amos 1,2,3; Psalms 80; 2 Timothy 4

Scripture

2 Timothy 4

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Observation

To quote one of the leaders in our church - James Hartley says, “Men typically tend to be poor finishers”.

How are you going to finish this race?

I plan to finish well. It is the desire of my heart. How about you?

What are we doing to make sure we finish well? Are you in an accountability group or a least a life group or small group?

If you are a man, do you have men in your life who will keep you on track?

Are you faithful in reading your Bible? Are you faithfully attending church? How is your relationship with your Heavenly Father? Do you have a Quiet time on a daily basis?

This life is a race! How are we doing?

Application

I will do everything I can to finish this life well. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me fight the good fight, Help me to finish the race, and help me to keep the faith.  I know that there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which You, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day! I pray for my family. Draw them into a relationship with You. Help them to love You with all of their hearts. Help them to finish well.

They Will Act Religious, But They Will Reject The Power That Could Make Them Godly.

2 Kings 13; 2 Kings 14; 2 Chronicles 25; 2 Timothy 3

They Will Act Religious,

But They Will Reject

The Power That Could Make Them Godly.

Scripture

2 Timothy 3

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.

They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

Observation

Stay away from people who act religious, but who reject the power that could make them godly.

There is a big difference between being “religious” and being “godly”.

The big difference is God’s Holy Spirit! You and I need to be filled and we need to be controlled by the Holy Spirit.

I have seen some entries/posts on Facebook lately that have me scratching my head over the behavior/actions of some of my friends who call themselves Christ followers.

We are all sinners and we all fall short of God’s grace. None of us are perfect, but each of us as believers in Jesus Christ should have the Power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives to convict us and get us back on the right path and back in the right direction. If we lack that Power then we are just “religious” and we will not be able to live godly lives.

I am praying that God’s Holy Spirit will convict all of us so we will be able to live effective godly lives. I realize that I too could be drawn to do some of the very things that I see my friends involved in if I don’t stay in close fellowship with the Lord.

Application

I will pray for my friends and I will look for an opportunity to talk to them about their actions.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Your Word tells us to abstain from all appearance of evil. Help me to live a godly life. Help my friends stay away from “all appearance” of evil. Help them to live godly lives. Help us live in a way that makes You Smile. Keep us from sinning. Help us to live in a way that only brings You glory and honor.

Run Away From The Evil Desires Of Youth

Today’s "Life Journal" Daily Bible Reading can be found on Line. Click Here!

Run

Away From The

Evil Desires Of Youth

Jonah 1; Jonah 2; Jonah 3; Jonah 4; 2 Timothy 2

Scripture

2 Timothy 2

22 But run away from the evil desires of youth. Try hard to live right and to have faith, love, and peace, together with those who trust in the Lord from pure hearts.

Observation

Try hard to live right … Run away from the evil desires of youth … these were the words of the Apostle Paul to his young friend Timothy and they are good words for us today. He goes on to say that Timothy should “hang” with people who trust in the Lord from pure hearts.

If the people that you are hanging with cause you to sin – RUN! Don’t hang with them! Find some people who trust in the Lord with pure hearts and hang around them.

Galatians 5:

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires.

These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,

20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,

21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control.

Application

I will let the Holy Spirit guide me today. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me be guided today by Your Holy Spirit. Help the young Christians in our church choose godliness and help them not to yield to evil desires. Help them grow in Christ. Help them not to give in to the desires of the flesh.

He Has Saved Us And Called Us To A Holy Life -

Today’s "Life Journal" Daily Bible Reading can be found on Line. Click Here!

He Has Saved Us

And

Called Us To A Holy Life -

Joel 1,2,3; 2 Timothy 1
Scripture

2 Timothy 1

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.

Observation

There is a reason why God wants us to live differently than the rest of the world – He has a purpose in saving us. He didn’t save us just so we could go to Heaven.

Are you and I living a godly life? Is there any difference in the way we live and the way outsiders live their lives?

Lets personalize this verse – just put your name in place of mine and read this out loud a few times and lets think about this verse together:

God saved (Eddy) and called (Eddy) to a holy life – not because of anything (Eddy) has done but because of God’s own purpose and grace.

Application

I will strive to live a holy life today. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am not like everyone else. I have been saved by Your grace. I don’t deserve the life that I have the opportunity to live. Help me to live a godly life. Help others see Jesus in me today.

I pray for Jim Newton as he has surgery today. I pray for healing and a quick recovery.

If We Have Bread On The Table And Shoes On Our Feet, That’s Enough

Today’s "Life Journal" Daily Bible Reading can be found on Line. Click Here!
2 Kings 11; 2 Kings 12; 2 Chronicles 24; 1 Timothy 6

If We Have

Bread On The Table

And Shoes On Our Feet, That’s Enough

Scripture

1 Timothy 6

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. NLT

6-8 A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough. MESSAGE

Observation

Contentment is a difficult thing to hold onto in the land of “Happy Meals”! Millions of commercials all try to grab our attention trying to sell us the newest, the fastest, and the latest gadget (house, car, computer/tablet, television, cell phone, and even clothes).

Let’s go back to verse 6 and verse 8 and realize that all that we really need, we already have! Let’s be content. Let’s strive for godliness.

Application

I will strive to be content. I will strive to enjoy what God has already given to me: my family, my friends, my church, and my relationship with Him!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to be content today with what I have. Help me to be content today with my health as it is. Put on my heart today what is important to You for me to think about and put on my heart what is important for me to do. You are good – all the time! Thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy.

Be An Example To All Believers In What You Say, In The Way You Live, In Your Love, Your Faith, And Your Purity.

2 Kings 8; 2 Kings 9; 2 Chronicles 21; 1 Timothy 4

Be An Example To All Believers

In What You Say,

In The Way You Live, In Your Love, Your Faith, And Your Purity.

Scripture

1 Timothy 4

12 Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Observation

Our behavior as disciples of Christ should be different than what we see around us. Those that don’t know Jesus Christ are not expected to live like King’s kids, but we who have a personal relationship with Christ should be examples to them!

Does what I am about to do bring glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ? This is a great question to ask ourselves before we do something that we later regret.

Today our young men are preaching in all of our services. I am very proud of them. May God use them today to touch lives through His Word.

Application

I will be an example today in what I say, in the way I live, in my love, in my faith, and in my purity. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help others see Jesus in me. I don’t want to live like the world. Help me to be an example to those around me. Don’t let me lead someone in the wrong direction. I pray for our young preachers today. Use them for Your honor and for Your glory.

“For There Are More On Our Side Than On Theirs!”

Today’s "Life Journal" Daily Bible Reading can be found on Line. Click Here!
2 Kings 6; 2 Kings 7; 2 Chronicles 20; 1 Timothy 3

“For There Are More On
Our Side
Than On Theirs!”

Scripture

1 Timothy 3

15 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.

16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

Observation

One plus God = a majority! Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!

I love this story!  Elisha can see the hillside filled with horses and chariots of fire, but his servant can only see the enemy.

It is easy for us to see all of the opposition and all the trouble and problems but not so easy to see God in the midst of our circumstances.

Maybe we need a reminder today that there is more on our side than theirs!

Application

I will remember today that I am on the winning team and that God will take care of my family and me.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, over and over again in Your Word You tell us “not to be afraid”. I know why You have to tell us over and over and over again because our default button goes straight to fear and doubt. Help me today to be bold and courageous. Help those around me trust in You. Your Word says, “You will rescue those who love You. You will protect those who trust in Your name. When they call on You, You will answer; You will be with them in trouble.” Psalm 91:14-15 {Eddy’s paraphrase}

What I Want Mostly Is For Men To Pray --

Today’s "Life Journal" Daily Bible Reading can be found on Line. Click Here!
2 Kings 4; 2 Kings 5; Psalm 83; 1 Timothy 2

What I Want

Mostly

Is For Men To Pray --

Scripture

1 Timothy 2

4-7 He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free.

8-10 Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray—not shaking angry fists at enemies but raising holy hands to God. (Message)

Observation

God wants everyone to be saved and God wants us to pray for his/her salvation! Do I believe that prayer/intercession has something to do with a person being saved? YES I DO!

I will continue to pray for those in my family that need a relationship with Jesus.

I believe that I have a relationship with Christ because my “Granny” prayed for me. Maybe it was someone else too, but I know that my “Granny” had a big part in my knowing Jesus! It wasn’t my Mom or my Dad!

Who are you praying for? Who needs Jesus?

Application

I will trust God that He will answer my prayers for the salvation of those who I love. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You said it in Your Word and I believe it. You want me to pray for the lost and I am going to do just that! You know the men who I am praying for right now in my family! Save them! Thank You for hearing my prayers! I know that You want all men and women to be saved.

Christ Jesus Came Into The World To Save Sinners – And I Am The Worst Of Them All. But God Had Mercy On Me

2 Kings 1; 2 Kings 2; 2 Kings 3; Psalm 82; 1 Timothy 1
Christ Jesus Came Into The World To Save Sinners –
And I Am The Worst Of Them All.
But God Had Mercy On Me
Scripture
1 Timothy 1
15 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.
16 But God ...
...had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.
17 All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.
Observation
But God had mercy on me! Praise God! If God had mercy on me I know that He can save those who I am praying for.

We are all sinners!

Unless God has mercy on us and saves us then we are lost and going to Hell.

Who needs God's mercy?

Pray for them.

Ask God to save them!

He saved you and He saved me then He can surely save those we are praying for!

Application

I will continue to pray for those who I want God to save.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I remember Luke 1:37 this morning, For nothing is impossible with God” and I am reminded that nothing is impossible with You. I pray for those in my family that need Your salvation. I ask You to save them just like You saved me! Save them because of Your mercy and Your grace. Save them because You are Mighty to save. Nothing is too hard for You.

Live Wisely Among Those Who Are Not Believers

1 Kings 22; 2 Chronicles 18; 2 Chronicles 19; Colossians 4
Live Wisely
Among Those
Who Are Not Believers
Scripture
Colossians 4
5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.
Observation
Those around us that are not yet believers need to see Jesus in us. If there isn't any difference in how we live and how those around us live – what is there too see!

To live like Jesus, you and I have to spend time with Him. It is amazing how many folks that would call themselves “believers” never spend time opening up God's Word.

Have you spent time in God's Word today?

It is impossible to live wisely among those who are not believers if we are not in His Word everyday.

Lets make the most of every opportunity this week to make Jesus known by the way we live!

Application

I will strive to live wisely this week! I will make the most out of every opportunity to make Jesus famous.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to live wisely. Help me make the most of every opportunity. Give me Your heart for those that are around me who are not believers and let them see Jesus in me.

Husbands, Love Your Wives, And NEVER Treat Them Harshly.

1 Kings 20; 1 Kings 21; 2 Chronicles 17; Colossians 3
Husbands,
Love Your Wives,
And NEVER Treat Them Harshly.
Scripture
Colossians 3
19 Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
Observation
Never! I think that is the word that jumped out at me this morning as I read this chapter!

Love Kathy and NEVER treat her harshly!

We have been married for almost 45 years. I wish that I could tell you that I NEVER spoke harshly to the love of my life. Sorry, I can't.

One time (when I was being less than loving to her) she said, “You are nicer to the people at church than you are to me!” And she was right!

You and I can be meaner and harsher to the one that we love the most!

So I plan to be a lot nicer over the next 45 years of marriage!

Today is Kathy's birthday! She is __ years old today!

Proverbs 18:22 “The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from God.
Application

I will strive to be kind and gentle with Kathy and not treat her harshly! How about you? How will you treat your partner?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You gave me a great treasure when you gave me Kathy. I know she is a gift from You. Help me treat her in a way that makes You smile! Bless Kathy today on her birthday. Bless her with good health. Give her the desires of her heart, answer her prayers. and make her plans successful. You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

I Want You To Know How Much I Have Agonized For You

1 Kings 17; 1 Kings 18; 1 Kings 19; Colossians 2
I Want You
To Know
How Much I Have Agonized For You
Scripture
Colossians 2
2 I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally. 2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.
Observation
I can identify with the Apostle Paul when he shares how he agonizes over believers as he prays for them. Right now I am praying for some folks that are going through difficult circumstances and I agonize as I pray for them. I hurt for them.

They need for God to intervene in their lives. Yes, in many cases they need to repent and get right with God. God has given me the job of interceding for them.

Some need relationships and marriages restored and others are dealing with health issues.

Who does God want us to agonize in prayer for today?

Maybe it is for some baby Christians or maybe it is for some fellow Christians who have gotten caught up in a sin and need to break free … why not agonize in prayer for them today!

1 Timothy 2:1

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.

Application

I will continue to pray for the people that God puts on my heart. I will cry out to God on their behalf. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I will pray to You on behalf of those that You put on my heart. I pray because I have been given the job of interceding for them. I thank You for each one that I am burdened for today knowing that You love to transform lives and I know that You love to answer my prayers.

Don't Worry About Anything, Instead, Pray About Everything

1 Kings 15; 2 Chronicles 13; 2 Chronicles 14; Philippians 4
Don't Worry About Anything,
Instead,
Pray About Everything
Scripture
Philippians 4
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Observation
Tell God what you need and thank Him for all that He has done! It is easy to tell God what I need but I sometimes forget the last part which is so crucial – thanking Him for what He has done.

If you are going through trials right now why not look back and thank God for His faithfulness in the past.

What have you been worrying about ? We are not to worry about anything, but we are to pray about everything!

If you have lots of stuff to worry about that means that you have plenty of stuff to pray about!

Jesus says that worry can't add one inch to my height!

So if you and I pray about our needs instead of worrying about them then we can experience verse 7:

7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
I don't know about you but I would like to experience that kind of peace in my life this weekend!

Application

I will pray about everything that comes to my mind and I will not worry. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to not to worry. Help me to pray about everything. Give me Your peace, which exceeds anything I can understand. I pray that Your peace will guard my heart and my mind as I live in Christ Jesus

Don't Be Selfish

1 Kings 12; 2 Chronicles 10; 2 Chronicles 11; Philippians 2
Don't
Be
Selfish
Scripture
Philippians 2
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Observation
Selfish! Yes … Selfish! Lets not be selfish today. Who needs our attention? Who needs a word of encouragement? Who needs for us to bless them today?

I have good intentions when I start out the day, but my own interests get in the way of my taking an interest in those around me.

It is so easy to get distracted from the really important stuff in life – people!

Application

Today I will make some phone calls and check up on some people that have been on my heart. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me not to be so selfish today. Help me think about others more than I think about myself. Put people on my heart that need a word of encouragement today and help me to follow through and give them a word that will lift them up. You are the Mighty God. Thank You for showing me how to be humble and how to serve through the example of Jesus Christ.

Fathers Don't Exasperate Your Children

Song of Solomon 1; Song of Solomon 2; Song of Solomon 3; Song of Solomon 4; Ephesians 6
Fathers
Don't Exasperate
Your Children
Scripture
Ephesians 6
4 Fathers, don’t exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.
Observation
If I could raise my children over again I would treat them more like I treat my grandchildren now! I regret coming down so hard on them and always being way too serious with them.

I can't change that now. But I wish that I could …

What I can do now is pray for my children and I can ask God to work miraculously in their lives! I ask God to fix what I messed up! I ask God to do a powerful work in their lives.

My father was harsh with me and the only time I heard him use God's name was when he was cursing at me. But I can't blame my Dad for how I act as an adult today. I can't blame my mistakes that I committed as a Dad on my Dad. I must accept responsibility for my own actions. It would be nice if I could shift the blame for all my “bads” on someone else but I can't.

So today I get to be grandpa to my 10 grandchildren! There are 3 in our house right now playing in the kitchen with their grandma! Life is good. God is good. Grandchildren are the greatest!

Application

I will have fun with my grandchildren this week!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Grandchildren are one of the best gifts You could ever give to a Dad that messed up a lot raising his children. Thank You for each one of my grandchildren. Bless each one of them. Help them all grow up with a love for You. I pray for each one's salvation. Help them to open up their hearts wide to spiritual things!

For A Man Who Loves His Wife Actually Shows Love For Himself

Ecclesiastes 10; Ecclesiastes 11; Ecclesiastes 12; Psalm 94; Ephesians 5
For A Man
Who Loves His Wife
Actually Shows Love For Himself
Scripture
28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
Observation
This may sound crazy to you but it is so true, the more a guy shows love to his wife the more he actually shows love to himself.

I can tell you that after being married for almost 45 years that what God says in verse 28 is so true!

I feel sorry for husbands that don't put this passage of scripture into practice. They are the big losers.

God designed the husband/wife relationship! He created us. He knows how marriage works best!

Why don't you try to love your wife the same way that Christ loved the Church. He was willing to die for the church.

If we love our wife like God says to love her then God's Word says that we will actually be loving ourselves. We will be a lot better off.

Application

I will love Kathy this week with God's sacrificial love. And I know that she will respond with God's love back to me. It will be a great week.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help men see that it is only to their advantage to love their wife the way You intended for them to love. Help all of us not to be selfish this week.

I Pray That From His Glorious, Unlimited Resources He Will Empower You With Inner Strength Through His Spirit.

Ecclesiastes 4; Ecclesiastes 5; Ecclesiastes 6; Psalm 18; Ephesians 3

I Pray That From His Glorious,
Unlimited Resources
He Will Empower You With Inner Strength Through His Spirit.
Scripture
Ephesians 3
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Observation
What a great prayer for you and I to pray for those we love!
I pray that from God's unlimited resources He will empower you! Wow!

Application

I will pray this prayer for every person that God brings to my mind today!

Prayer
I love you, Lord; you are my strength. You are my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
You are my rock, in whom I find protection. You are my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety. Now all glory to You, You are able, through Your mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Psalm 18 + Ephesians 3:20

For We Are God's Masterpiece

Ecclesiastes 1; Ecclesiastes 2; Ecclesiastes 3; Psalm 45; Ephesians 2

For We
Are God's
Masterpiece
Scripture
Ephesians 2
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Observation
Do you feel like you are God's masterpiece this morning? If you answered “no” then maybe you feel like me this morning. It is a good thing that we don't live life based on our feelings. I am glad that I am God's masterpiece regardless of how I feel.
I remind myself this morning that I am His creation. He made me and He delights in me. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
It is by faith in Jesus Christ that I live my life today. I am not going to be guided by my feelings! How about you?
Application

I will live out this day trusting in the one who loves me and died for me.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, today I look to You for strength. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. I know that You love me and You created me to do good works. Guide me today and show me what You would have me to do.

Do You See A Man Who Is Quick With His Words? There Is More Hope For A Fool Than For Him.

Proverbs 28; Proverbs 29; Psalm 60; Romans 16

Do You See A Man
Who Is Quick With His Words?
There Is More Hope For A Fool Than For Him.
Scripture
Proverbs 29
20 Do you see a man who is quick with his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Observation
Open mouth insert foot … I tend to do that a lot. If I would just wait and think before I open my mouth it save a lot of grief! How about you?

Application

This week I will ask the Lord to help me to control my mouth.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me when I speak. Help me not to speak before I engage my brain. Help me control what comes out of my mouth. Help me to use words to help and not to hurt those around me. Guard my lips.
