Their King Is The Angel From The Bottomless Pit;

His Name In Hebrew Is Abaddon,

And In Greek, Apollyon – The Destroyer.

Revelation 9 

¹¹ Their king is the angel from the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon—the Destroyer.

Observation

As I read Ezekiel and Revelation this morning I am reminded just how evil this world is! The ruler of this world is Satan. At the moment he is alive and doing very well but his days are numbered. 

When I read in the newspapers, or watch the news on television it is filled with terrible evil acts either done by individuals, nations or soldiers. Terrible acts like poisoning and killing their own children with nerve gas. Yes, the Destroyer is alive and well on planet earth. 

If I didn’t know how it was all going to end, all of this evil could cause me to be depressed and maybe even afraid, but I have read the end of the Story. In fact I am only a few chapters away from reading about what happens to this Destroyer. His days are numbered and so are the days of those who do evil. 

Revelation 20

¹⁰ Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
 
¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. ¹² I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.

Application

I will continue to share the Good News with people today and I will rejoice today knowing that the victory is already ours.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, It is finished! You are the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty You will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and You will be their God, and they will be Your children.
