The Church, You See, Is Not Peripheral To The World; The World Is Peripheral To The Church

The Church, You See,
Is Not Peripheral To The World;
The World Is Peripheral To The Church
Scripture
Ephesians 1
22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
Ephesians 1 MSG
20-23 All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
Observation
Peripheral” – it is one of those words that I don't think I have ever used in a conversation, but I am pretty sure (since I looked it up) that what it means is that the church is most important and not the world.
In fact, there is nothing more powerful on the face of this Earth than God's church!
Jesus Christ, the Creator of the entire Universe, Jesus Christ, the Creator of everything, is now on His throne in Heaven and He is in charge of everything, and He created the world and everything else for the benefit of His church.
Remember what Jesus said, “... and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it”.
Jesus is in charge. He is working out His plan. He is not shocked or surprised by world events!
This is what He says in Ephesians 1:10-11
And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.  Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.”
God is in control. Let's trust Him!
Application
I am grateful to be a part of God's church. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when I think that You have created everything for Christ followers to enjoy and all of it was created for our benefit ... this amazes me! And we exist to have fellowship with You -the Creator God. We are so small. We are nothing, and yet You have done all of this for our benefit. This Good News is for everyone. You have given me the responsibility of sharing the Good News that Jesus saves - with everyone. Yes, this Good News about the plan of salvation is to be shared with every person that comes across my path. Thank You for allowing me to be a part of something so big, so powerful, and a part of something that is going to last forever and something that is more important than anything else happening in this world!
