But We Are Citizens Of Heaven, Where The Lord Jesus Christ Lives.

But We Are Citizens Of Heaven,
Where
The Lord Jesus Christ Lives.
Scripture
Philippians 3
20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
Observation
I am glad that I had the opportunity to be born and raised in the USA. Kathy and I have lived in other countries and have had the opportunity to travel to many others while on the mission field and because of that we have a deep appreciation for our American citizenship.
It is far from perfect but I am grateful to call it home.
Kathy and I are dual citizens, just like many of you – citizens of the USA and citizens of Heaven. And as good as it is living in the USA it can't be compared with what we are going to get to experience when we get to Heaven!
One of the things that we are going to get when we get to Heaven is a make over – Christ is going to take my weak worn out body and He is going to change it into a glorified upgraded model like He has!
No more aches and pains – no more suffering!
Hallelujah! Come Lord Jesus!
We have a lot to look forward to!
2 Corinthians 5
1 For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down—when we die and leave these bodies—we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
2 How weary we grow of our present bodies. That is why we look forward eagerly to the day when we shall have heavenly bodies that we shall put on like new clothes.
3 For we shall not be merely spirits without bodies.
4 These earthly bodies make us groan and sigh, but we wouldn’t like to think of dying and having no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will, as it were, be swallowed up by everlasting life.
5 This is what God has prepared for us, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.
Application
I look forward to exchanging this worn out body for a new one! How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we have a lot to look forward to. Thank You for the promise of a new body that is going to last forever and never wear out. For all of us who are living with badly damaged and worn out bodies this is a great encouragement. Thank You for letting me know that I am already a citizen of Heaven. No matter how bad it gets down here I always have something to look forward to.
I pray for my oldest son Eddie today on his birthday. Bless him Lord. May Your face shine on Him today. Help him to see all of the good things that You have planned for his life!
