Scripture

Leviticus 1

3 “If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the herd, it must be a male with no defects. Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle so you may be accepted by the LORD. 4 Lay your hand on the animal’s head, and the LORD will accept its death in your place to purify you, making you right with him.

Acts 13

32 “And now we are here to bring you this Good News. The promise was made to our ancestors, 33 and God has now fulfilled it for us, their descendants, by raising Jesus. This is what the second psalm says about Jesus:
‘You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.’

34 For God had promised to raise him from the dead, not leaving him to rot in the grave. He said, ‘I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David.’ 35 Another psalm explains it more fully: ‘You will not allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.’ 36 This is not a reference to David, for after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed. 37 No, it was a reference to someone else—someone whom God raised and whose body did not decay.

38“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. 39 Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do. 40 Be careful! Don’t let the prophets’ words apply to you. For they said,

41 ‘Look, you mockers,
be amazed and die!
For I am doing something in your own day,
something you wouldn’t believe
even if someone told you about it.’”

Observation

In the book of Leviticus we see that God was requiring the blood of a perfect male animal and the He accepted the death of the animal in our place. Jesus, the Perfect Lamb of God died one time and everyone that believes in Him is declared right with God. The only way we can be right with God is through the blood sacrifice of Jesus.

Your sins can only be forgiven through Jesus.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty of death for your sins?

Unless there has been a time in your life when you surrendered your life to Christ then you do not have forgiveness of your sins and when you die you will not go to Heaven.

“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God”

Are you right with God?

Application

I will do a word study on the word “blood” in the New Testament.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 1:7

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:12

But if we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. 1 John 1:7

And they sang a new song with these words: "You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were killed, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. Revelation 5:9

Prayer

Heavenly Father, What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
what can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow
that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.
