Scripture

1 Corinthians 6

18 Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

Observation

Are you tempted with a sexual sin? The Bible tells us what to do … RUN! Don’t flirt around with a sexual temptation because it is the worst kind of sin that you can commit. It is a sin that is against our own bodies and our bodies belong to the Lord. Our bodies now are the Temple of God.

Do you remember the reverence that was demanded by God when the nation of Israel went to the Temple to worship? If the high priest would do anything incorrectly while he was in the holy of holies he could be struck dead. They would listen to hear the bells that were fastened on the tassels of his robe and if they could not hear them then they knew that he was dead.

The Temple was a Holy place. Now Christians have become the Temple of God. Run from sexual sin.

Application

I will run from sexual sin!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to keep myself pure from sexual sin. Help me to take of my body because it is where Your Holy Spirit resides.
