The King is Coming!

Genesis 47; Genesis 48; Psalm 10; Luke 19

Scripture

Luke 19:35-40

“They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
38 "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"
40 "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

Observation

Nothing was going to hold back the praise as Jesus made His entry into Jerusalem even though His enemies the Pharisees wanted the praise to stop. Jesus let them know that if the crowd were silenced then the stones would burst out in praise! Jesus is returning soon and all creation will bow to Him. He is worthy of our praise. Don’t worry about someone that praises the Lord a little more than you or a little louder than you because if you do then there is a name for you… Pharisee!

Application

I will not keep quiet I will praise Him!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, today I praise you. My heart is filled with joy and I want you to know that I love you and you are worthy to be praised. You are the Creator God and I marvel at the wonders that your Hands have made!
