Spur one another!

Isaiah 15-18; Hebrews 10

Scripture

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Observation

The writer of Hebrews exhorts us to think of ways to encourage one another. He says to spur one another toward love and good deeds. And we should not let anything keep us from meeting together in our small groups or corporate worship.

Application

It is easy to get discouraged and it is obviously easy enough for some to get discouraged enough to quit coming to church and to their small group and to their Sunday School class. So we need to encourage those that are discouraged. We need to call and write those that have been absent.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to take time to call some folks that have missed these past Sundays. Help me to be an encourager to those that are having tough times. Show me who you want me to contact this week! Thank you for the guys in my life that keep me accountable to you.
