Once For All

Isaiah 11-14; Hebrews 9

Scripture

Hebrews 9:12 “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.”

Observation

The high priest entered into the holy of holies once a year on the Day of Atonement. The high priest would sprinkle the blood of animals for the forgiveness of the sins of the people. It was temporary. It was an annual event. Blood sacrifices were even a daily event at the Temple. Jesus entered into the holy of holies (Heaven) not with the blood of animals, but with the sacrifice of His own blood. He did this once for all to take away our sins.

Application

When we trust Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior God no longer sees our sin. It has been taken away. Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Christ died one time to take away the penalty of our sins. His death was a gift to us. We need to accept what He did on the cross for us. When we accept His gift then our sins are forgiven.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for taking away the penalty of my sin. I am forgiven because of your sacrifice on the cross. Help me to continue to share with others this Good News. Bring someone into my life today that needs to hear about you!
