For All Of You That Just Didn’t Get My Blog Yesterday …

Jesus Makes His Point Again In Mark 10

Scripture

Mark 10

13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Observation

You would have thought that the disciples would have caught Jesus’ lesson that He taught them in Chapter Nine of the Gospel of Mark. They must have been like we are … hard headed! In chapter ten we find the disciples jockeying for the top spots with Jesus all over again just like they were in Mark chapter nine.

Parents were bringing their children to Jesus for Jesus to bless them but the disciples were telling them to back off. When Jesus saw what the disciples were doing He became angry with them. He told them to let the children come to Him because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Then the scripture says that He gathered the children up in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

If you missed yesterday’s lesson that Jesus taught His disciples, know problem, He repeats it again in chapter ten. Kids matter a lot to Jesus. They are to be valued. They are to be brought to Jesus. If you are a Mom or a Dad that is the lesson that you need to hear this morning, your children need to be brought to Jesus. Don’t hinder them from coming to Jesus.

If you are a Preschool or a KidCity worker at Christ Fellowship you might want to take the passages about kids from Mark nine and Mark ten and put them up on your refrigerator. You might want to go over them just before you serve every Sunday. Moms and Dads might consider doing the same thing and yes us grandparents too!

Application

I will continue to do everything I can to bring my children and my grandchildren to Jesus.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I know that our children and our grandchildren are very precious to You. We have a responsibility to bring children to Jesus those that are ours and those that are not. Thank You for all of our workers in our Preschool and KidCity. Help them to see how important their serving with children is to You.
