God’s Word - Put It Into Practice

Scripture

Luke 11

27 As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, “God bless your mother—the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!”
28 Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”

Observation

The Bible is our game book and we must put it into practice! Hearing God’s Word is good but for it to make a difference we must put it into practice! The woman in the crowd was giving the mother of Jesus a compliment and immediately Jesus took that compliment and used it to teach a huge lesson.
If we are hearers of the Word only James says in James 1:22-24 that we are like someone who looks at his self in the mirror and then walks away without fixing what he sees. The Word of God is like a mirror. It shows us what we look like and then we are to make the necessary changes that the Word shows us that we need to make.

Application

I will put into practice what I have read today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me not read Your Word then forget what I have read. Help me put Your word into practice. I want to be sensitive to Your leading today sensitive to Your Holy Spirit. Show me any unconfessed sin in my life and help me walk close to You. Put on my heart the right desires, the right prayer requests, and make my plans successful because of my trust in You. I pray that You lead our entire team today. Give them energy and give them Your thoughts and Your ideas and protect them from the Evil one. You are Mighty. There is nothing too hard for You.
