“Who is this man?”

Scripture

The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

Observation

“Who is this man?” Luke 8 has some amazing stories in it about Jesus and Who He is! He has total power over nature we see that in the story of the storm in verses 22-25! He has total authority over the demonic world we see that when He allows the demons to go into the pigs and all 2,000 pigs go into the water and drown (verses 26-37). He has power over sickness and even death we see that in the stories that follow in verses 40-56.

This is a chapter full of proof that Jesus was no ordinary man, but that He is God Himself.

Reading this chapter it is evident to anyone at least it is evident to me that Jesus is able to take care of any situation that comes my or anyone else’s way. All the storms of life can be calmed by a personal relationship with the Savior. Do you have a personal relationship with Him? Are you allowing Him to deal with the storms that you are facing? Have you turned each situation over to Him? If you haven’t – why not do that today?

Application

I will invite people to trust Jesus with the storms of life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for guiding me everyday. Thank You for what you are doing in our church. I pray for Bruce and Heather. I pray that You use them to guide and direct us. Give Bruce wisdom to know what direction You want us to go. I pray that Your hand will be on our (Your) church.
