O LORD, Our Lord,

Your Majestic Name Fills The Earth!

Your Glory Is Higher Than The Heavens.

Scripture

Psalm 8

1 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.

3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—

4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?

Observation

When I read Ezekiel and Revelation and I see how patient You were Lord and how many warnings You gave people it is amazing. It is mind boggling to me that You, the Creator God, the Creator of this entire Universe would put up with us with all of our sinfulness yet because of Your great love for us You do!

I agree with King David when he says, “When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?”

I am just glad that You do. I am glad that You are patient with us. I know that a day of judgment is coming for those who refuse to repent and surrender their lives to You. But I am grateful that You are patient and that You are giving them time to repent.

And … Thank You for being so patient with me.

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

Luke 13:1-5

1 About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple.

2 “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered?

3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.

4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem?

5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”

Application

I will keep praying for people who are still living like God does not exist. I will not give up on them.

How about you? Have you stopped praying for that lost loved one because they don't seem to be getting any closer to God?

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Never stop praying.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You. Thank You for saving a wretch like me. I know that if You can save me You can surely save the people that I keep praying for. It is amazing that You think about us at all. We are so sinful. We are so unlike what You created us to be like. Yet, You love us with a love that is unconditional and everlasting. Thank You for not giving up on me. Thank You that You are still working in the lives of my children and my grandchildren. I want to see all of them walking in a close relationship with You. You know that is the biggest desire of my heart. Nothing is too hard for You! Nothing!
