They Were Told To Wait A Short Time Longer.

There Were Still Some Of Their Brothers And Sisters

In The Service Of Christ Who Must Be Killed As They Were.

Scripture

Revelation 6

The Lamb opened the fifth seal. Then I saw some souls under the altar. They were the souls of those who had been killed because they were faithful to God’s message and to the truth they had received. 10 These souls shouted in a loud voice, “Holy and true Lord, how long until you judge the people of the earth and punish them for killing us?” 11 Then each one of them was given a white robe. They were told to wait a short time longer. There were still some of their brothers and sisters in the service of Christ who must be killed as they were. These souls were told to wait until all the killing was finished.

Observation

Martyrs. Will you be a “Martyr” for Christ? Don’t say to yourself “absolutely not” our world is changing very quickly. Things could change so quickly here in the United States that Christians could begin dying for their faith. Dying for your faith and suffering severe persecution in many other countries is the norm for people that place their trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Martyrs will hold a special place in the Kingdom of God. I would rather be a Martyr for Christ than live a life as a lukewarm Christian. How about you? Believers in places like the Sudan and China will have great rewards in the Kingdom of Heaven. What will we receive for the life of ease that we are presently experiencing?

Application

I will pray for believers in other countries that are experiencing death and persecution for their faith.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, don’t let me miss out on crowns and rewards in Heaven because I live in the United States. We do live in comfort when most of the world lives in misery. We do suffer very little persecution for our faith when most of the believers in our world experience extreme suffering. I pray for the believers in the Sudan and in the country of China. I pray for our workers there. I pray that you protect them and use them. Be glorified through them. If suffering comes to us in the United States we welcome it. If it helps to further Your kingdom then bring it on.
