One-Third Of The Earth Was Set On Fire, One-Third Of The Trees Were Burned, And All The Green Grass Was Burned.

One-Third Of The Earth Was Set On Fire,
One-Third Of The Trees Were Burned,
And All The Green Grass Was Burned.
Scripture
Revelation 8
6 Then the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to blow their mighty blasts.
7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down on the earth. One-third of the earth was set on fire, one-third of the trees were burned, and all the green grass was burned.
8 Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea. One-third of the water in the sea became blood,9 one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed.
10 Then the third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch. It fell on one-third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star was Bitterness.  It made one-third of the water bitter, and many people died from drinking the bitter water.
12 Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and one-third of the sun was struck, and one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars, and they became dark. And one-third of the day was dark, and also one-third of the night.
13 Then I looked, and I heard a single eagle crying loudly as it flew through the air, “Terror, terror, terror to all who belong to this world because of what will happen when the last three angels blow their trumpets.”
Observation
The recent fires in the Amazon have the whole world's attention. And hurricane Dorian seems to have everyone's attention, especially those who are living in its path. Both of these disasters are really bad, but they are nothing compared to the coming disasters described in Revelation 8.
The people in Ezekiel's day ignored his warnings just like they ignored all of God's prophets. And today is no different than back then. People now, just like back in Ezekiel's day, do not believe that God will do what He says that He is going to do. The people were wrong then and they are just as wrong today to ignore God's warnings.
I believe that God always does what He says He is going to do.
The only reason why all of the terrible things that we read about in Revelation hasn't happened already is because God is patient and wants to give more time so more people have the opportunity to be saved.
2 Peter 3:9-10
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
Romans 2:5
But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
Application
I am so glad that God has me safely in the palm of His Hand.
How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know that You always do what You say that You are going to do. Help me to live like I believe it. Help me to be diligent and to keep my mind on what's most important. I pray for the salvation of those close to me. Do whatever it takes Lord to get their attention! I want them in Heaven with me.
I pray for those impacted by this storm. I still pray that You will steer this storm away from the coast of the United States and out further into the Atlantic.
